Make It From Your Heart with Avonlea

I am excited to share my latest layouts, made exclusively with CTMH products.  One of my favorite items in the new 2012 Fall./Winter Idea Book is the Make It From Your Heart, Volume 1, which replaces the How To Books that are now retired.  This awesome book contains patterns and cutting guides for 16 Two-Page Layouts, 2 One-Page Layouts and 12 Cards.

I decided to try the first 2-page layout in the book.  I used the Avonlea pattern, which is one of my favorites in the new Idea Book.  The layout is called Artful Turnabout, and I love the flow of the layout and the designated journaling spot.

I tried to incorporate some of the new items, but also use some of my current products.  I love the new Canvas Shapes... they are so easy to stamp on.
This layout really showcases our journey through Atlanta and finding each painted Dolphin for another photo opportunity.
The next pattern I decided to try from the Make It From Your Heart book is #4 Hip To Be Square.  I have not added photos yet, but I love how this turned out.  I can't wait to get my photos processed and add them.  I will most likely use the Sepia mode for printing again as I love the way it matches the colors in the Avonlea Paper Pattern.

While the first layout concentrate more on Chocolate and Olive as accent colors, this layout concentrates on the Avonlea Teal, Green and Slate colors.  I used the Stamp Set from the Avonlea WOTG.
I really loved using the new Velvet Rub Ons.  I was surprised at how easily they were to apply and how elegant they look on the paper.
I added a Dimentional Element diamond and dressed it up in simple fashion with the Avonlea WOTG Stamp Set.
This close us shows the Velvet Rub-ons and the flower was applied to the Avonlea Teal paper and then cut out.

I really enjoyed making both of these layouts, I hope you enjoy viewing them!  August 1st is when you can get your hands on some of these great new products!!!

  2. Oops. They're both Avonlea. :-) Silly me. I like them both--especially the first. You did a great job with the pictures and the jounaling--they work so nicely with that paper pack. I imagine the second one will look just as great when finished, too. Thanks for the healthy dose of inspiration! Hugs, B
